The program is built around the comprehensive study of German Language and Literature, Translation, and English. The curriculum offers a wide range of specialized courses designed to ensure a high level of professional training, including German Language, Translation Studies, English Language, History of the German Language, Linguistic and Cultural Studies of German-Speaking Countries, Lexicology, Theoretical Grammar, Literature of German-Speaking Countries, and Language Teaching Methodology.
Through this combination of linguistic, literary, translation, and pedagogical studies, students develop advanced language proficiency, intercultural communication skills, and professional competencies required for successful careers in education, translation and interpreting, international communication, publishing, and academic research.
The program combines theoretical and practical professional training, including instruction by native German-speaking language assistants and opportunities for international study and internship placements. This approach enables students to develop advanced linguistic, translation, and intercultural communication skills in an authentic academic environment.
Graduates of the Faculty of Foreign Languages who complete the Master's degree program are qualified for careers in research, publishing, education, media, information technology, and public relations. They are also prepared to work in educational institutions and universities, print and digital media, humanitarian organizations, foundations, museums, cultural and arts centers, as well as other institutions requiring professional translation and language services.
A Master's degree in Philology qualifies graduates for positions as researchers in philology, linguistics, and translation studies, as well as lecturers and instructors at higher education institutions and professional pre-higher education institutions.
The program also provides opportunities for further academic and professional development through doctoral (PhD) studies, leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, as well as specialized certificate and continuing education programs.
Previous educational qualification required: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree.
