Petroleum and Gas Geology

Graduates of the Master’s educational and professional program “Petroleum and Gas Geology” acquire advanced knowledge and professional competencies sufficient to effectively perform innovative tasks in geology, oil and gas prospecting and exploration, and the geological support of hydrocarbon field development and production.

The program also provides graduates with a solid understanding of the methodology of scientific and professional activities, enabling them to bridge geological science and practical applications in the petroleum and gas industry.

Graduates are eligible to continue their education at the doctoral level (PhD) in Earth Sciences.

The program is an educational and professional, practice-oriented program designed to prepare professional geologists with a modern scientific outlook and analytical mindset, capable of carrying out industrial, research, and innovation activities in petroleum and gas geology, including the prospecting, exploration, and development of unconventional natural gas deposits.

A distinctive feature of the program is its emphasis on both theoretical and practical training for conducting geological research related to hydrocarbon prospecting and exploration, as well as providing geological justification for the development of oil and gas fields. The program includes industrial pre-graduation practical training at petroleum and gas industry enterprises, allowing students to gain hands-on professional experience.

The program is designed to meet the demand of geological production companies and petroleum and gas engineering and design organizations for highly qualified specialists in the field of petroleum and gas geology.
